Avon Makeup: Reviewed

Hello everybody, i’ve got a review of the very well known Avon makeup brand today. Avon seems like it has been around forever, I have memories of their catalogues on my doorstep and the Avon ladies visiting houses in my local area. I always thought that it was more of an older ladies brand; but now i’ve had a chance to actually try the products I think they’re actually really good for wide range of people.

One stand out product from the ones I tried was the mascara which was the big & multiplied volume version; they have a handful of different ones depending on your desired look. This has a bristle brush, something I haven’t used for a while but I really liked the finished effect each time i’ve used this. It’s great at really lengthening the eyelashes, and also adding volume. It’s one of those mascaras that looks like the amount of lashes you had before you applied has doubled! This is £8.50 on the Avon website so it’s drugstore price which is pretty amazing too!

Another product I loved was (surprise surprise) a lipstick. This is one of their perfectly matte lipsticks which is pretty incredible in my opinion. I have the shade ‘mauve matters’ which is a pretty rosy-plum. This is very long lasting and it doesn’t cling to dry areas on my lips which is great. This is also very comfortable to wear, and apparently their formula is ‘matter than MAC’ which is pretty cool. I’ve been loving wearing this on top of their shine burst gloss stick as it provides a great base and a bit of hydration too.

I’ve been loving using the ideal flawless CC concealer stick to perfect my brows. This is an okay concealer for under the eyes but this definitely isn’t my preferred type for that purpose. Instead, i’ve been taking a bit of this product on a small dense brush and sweeping under the brow on the brow bone to highlight and above to create more sculpted brows. I can really see the difference when I do this step in my makeup routine!

I used the always on point eyeliner in this rose gold shade as part of my bridesmaid makeup and I think this is so pretty and quite unique. I used this on my lower lash line to add some shimmer and complemented my Zoeva cocoa blend palette really well. This is subtle but looks lovely blended out on the upper or lower lash line. Plus… who doesn’t love a bit of rose gold??

I was kindly sent these products from Avon, and because of that I didn’t choose any specific products. One of the items I received was this true colour eyeshadow quad in ‘sun washed bloom’. I would never have picked this out myself as i’m definitely a beige neutral eyeshadow girl but these colours are actually very pretty and i’ve used this more than I thought I would. The lightest shade is slightly shimmery and adds a subtle glow to the lids without being OTT. The lilac colour is also beautiful blended into the crease with a tiny bit of the pinky purple. Yay for trying something new! I’m very impressed with the formula of this as the shadows are very buttery and pigmented. I want to see what other shades they do now!!

I would never have thought about going to the Avon website for a bit of makeup retail therapy but these products have changed my mind. I genuinely like all of these products and i’ll continue to use them in my daily makeup routine.

Have you tried Avon makeup?
