Essence Cosmetics – reviewed

Hi guys, today i’m talking about an affordable makeup brand called Essence. I’ve only tried one thing from them previous to this very generous selection which was a lipliner in a berry shade that I absolutely adore. So, I had very high hopes for these new products I tried out!

First off let’s just say… I am so impressed by the quality of this brand. I think some of these products are absolute gems and don’t get the recognition they deserve. My favourite products out of the ones I tried are the matt matt matt lipsticks. I have two shades, both of which are very creamy and not at all drying. This is definitely my favourite matte lipstick formula i’ve tried. A sister product to the lipsticks are the long lasting lipglosses which are also very creamy. These don’t dry down much which means they are quite comfortable to wear but also means they come off more easily as well.

I think the false lashes mascara is becoming a regular product in my makeup routine also. It is really separating which gives that pretty, fluttery look to your lashes but can also be built up for more volume and definition. This also doesn’t smudge on me which is a real plus!

One of the brand’s newest releases is the prettifying lip oil. There are two versions; I have the slightly tinted version which even though it looks quite bright in the bottle just provides a very subtle hint of colour. These are extremely nourishing and I tend to use it at the start of doing my makeup, let it soak in and then apply a lip product on top. It’s amazing under liquid lipsticks.

A product I was very happily surprised to see is a highlighter palette. I feel like this is one of the less done makeup products for affordable brands so it’s great that Essence has brought one out. This would be great for people who like a slightly more natural looking glow; it’s definitely not blinding but you don’t always want that for day to day wear. When used with a fan brush it applies a subtly shimmer which looks really pretty so this is definitely worth picking up. I also think this would look great on the eyes too.

I am so happy i’ve tried this brand out more thoroughly as i’m always on the hunt for pocket friendly makeup. I think the quality is excellent and i’m definitely going to buy more shades of the matte lipsticks, they’re beautiful.

Have you tried this brand?
