Hello everyone, this week i’m reviewing the beautiful new foundation by L’Oreal that literally everyone has been talking about; their nude magique cushion foundation. When I first heard about this I wasn’t that bothered about it, after all it’s not the first cushion foundation to ever exist as Lâncome jumped on the bandwagon a while ago. This is the first readily-available cushion foundation in a UK drugstore though which is pretty awesome.
(you have no idea how hard it was to get a photo of this without my derpy face reflected in the packaging…haha!)
In terms of coverage it’s definitely light to medium coverage, and it’s easy to build up if you prefer a more flawless finish. My preferred way of applying this is dipping a buffing brush into the sponge and then applying to the face, or using my Real Techniques sponge in the same way. This gives a pretty satin finish when you first apply it and then I find it becomes more glowy throughout the day on my (very) dry skin. I do have some very dry patches on my face and neck and if I go really heavy handed it can cling slightly to those areas so if you’re similar to me just go with a light hand and make sure to moisturise before hand!
I’m loving this as an every-day base as it’s a ‘no fuss’ foundation, and I love the fact you can apply it straight from the pot, and there’s no messing about with having to pour it onto the back of your hand. All great selling points for this product!
I genuinely think this is worth the huge hype around this product, and i’ll definitely continue to use this. Shade 3 is my perfect match and I think that’s due to the foundation having pretty neutral undertones, which is more universally flattering.
So that’s what I think of the new L’Oreal foundation! Have you tried it yet and what do you think?

I’ve been trying this out too! Nice to see what someone with a different skin type thinks as I’m more combination/oily. I like it but find it need to blot a little as it goes a little shiny after a while on me! xo

Yes I understand where you’re coming from with the shiny-ness, as I have dry skin I love that bit of glow but I could definitely be too much for some! x

I’ve been wanting to try this for such a long time! Never had the courage to buy it though because I’ve been scared it won’t be right for my skin. Thanks for this review.

I love the look of this but my skin is oily and all I’ve seen are reviews for dry skin. I’m worried I’ll walk around looking sweaty if I get it😩 x

Hey! I think that it is aimed towards drier skin types, but if you used a matifying primer and powdered where you don’t want shiny then I think it would be fine! Xx

I’ll have to give it a go, even if it doesn’t work for me it’d look pretty on display I guess haha x

Yeah go for it! It’s probably not going to be an ‘easy’ foundation that you can just throw on but I’m sure you can make it work! Let me know how you get on if you try it x
