Top 5 Highlighters

Hello everyone, today’s post is all about my favourite highlighters. Highlighters are  something I’ve got into a lot more recently, as in the winter my skin tends to look more dull and really benefits from any added glow.  Here are my picks!

(I also apologise for the use of a Christmas background in these photos, I took these a while ago!)

Soap and Glory Glow All Out – This is called a ‘luminizing radiance face powder’ and does just that in my opinion! I would say this is by far the most natural highlight out of this selection, and I normally sweep and small amount of this onto my cheeks. I’ve had a love hate relationship with this; when I first bought it I was disappointed as I expected a strong pigment that you apply to the cheekbones (which is totally not what this product does!) This lifts your skin entirely in a very different way and I really like it.

Benefit High Beam – This is a liquid highlighter with a pinky satin finish that I tend to dot over my cheekbones. This has such a pretty shimmer in it which makes the skin look very healthy. One thing I would suggest is to maybe try using this under your foundation or just after as if the foundation has set before applying this it can move your makeup!

B. Shimmer Block – This is my favourite blusher of all time that works really well at luminizing the skin as it has shimmer in it. It looks very pretty on the cheeks and for a more intense highlight you can also pick out individual colours in this and use a clean eyeshadow brush to apply it to the cheekbones.

MUA Shimmer Highlighter – Such a great affordable highlighter that is very cool toned in comparison to most other highlighters I own. This is very pigmented and is also perfect for a brow bone highlight.

Benefit What’s Up – This is probably my favourite highlighter of all time; its a golden champagne cream highlighter which looks so pretty on the skin! I would suggest warming this up on your finger before applying it though as it blend much nicer into the skin that way!

So that’s a run down of my fave highlighters at the moment! I feel like everyone likes different ones so I’d love to know any good recommendations. I think the Balm’s Mary-Lou Maniser highlighter is next on my list to get!

I got the benefit highlighter for Christmas, I haven’t used it yet but I wasn’t sure how it would blend properly with it being liquid, thank you for the tip about warming it first! A lot of my friends use mac soft and gentle, I haven’t personally used it but I hear good things 🙂

Great post 🙂 I am in need of a new highlighter. I love S&G so I will give that a go. I know a lot of Youtubers pop it all over their face. Would you say it’s a bit too glowy for that? x
