High End + Drugstore Haul

Hi guys, I’ve picked up a few makeup bits recently and I thought I would share them with you. Its a mixture of high end and drugstore and I’m very happy with my purchases! So here’s what I bought…

Starting at the drugstore, I wanted to pick up a new Rimmel lasting finish primer. I use this every single day under my makeup and I love it! It really increases the time my foundation stays on my skin. I also love this for my dry skin as it feels just like a moisturiser and doesn’t have that silicone texture that other primers do.

I also bought this Maybelline big eyes eyeshadow palette. This looks really interesting as it claims it is for ‘bigger highlighted eyes’. So I thought I would give this a try. I also thought the orange colour in this looks a bit like the Nars isolde eyeshadow duo which has a very orange undertone to it. I’m also in love with light, shimmery champagne coloured eyeshadows in general so I had to get this. These are very pigmented and I like this so far!

Now for high end products I got this Benefit High Beam highlighter recently. This is supposed to add a glow to the skin when you dot and blend it on top of your makeup. I’ve tried this a few times so far and I like it but it definitely doesn’t give you that highlighter glow that I was expecting; like for example the Benefit what’s up highlighter gives you a very defined highlight. I will carry on using this and see how I feel about it. I also want to do a blog post on highlighters so this might sneak it’s way into that!

Lastly, I couldn’t resist myself. I caved… I bought 2 MAC lipsticks. I am completely in love with them though! These are my first ever MAC lipsticks and I feel like they won’t be the last ones either! I got the shade ‘fanfare’ which is a cremesheen and a pretty deep pink shade. The other shade is ‘syrup’ which is a lustre. The second one was totally inspired by Lily Pebbles. She said it was her favourite MAC lipstick ever so I had to get it!
