Makeup Starter Kit

“Makeup is self confidence applied directly to the face”

Hello everybody! Today I really want to share with you a few products I’ve picked out that would make a really good starting point if you’re just getting into makeup. These are just the basics which can then be easily built on as you add more products to your collection. These are all products I use almost daily anyway and I think they would be great for a beginner. Also they are all drugstore so they are very affordable. Let’s go!

So starting with base products, I chose this Rimmel Match Perfection foundation. This is my go -to foundation and it has light to medium coverage which I think is perfect for a first foundation as it can be left as a light base or built up for a heavier coverage.

To go along with that I’ve chosen a great concealer which is also from Rimmel and it’s their Wake Me Up concealer. This is really moisturising and  is so easy to blend out. I think this would be a great concealer as it’s really easy to use!

Lastly for base products I had to mention the Stay Matte powder from Rimmel. This is such a well known product in the blogging world and I can see why! I have been using this for such a long time and it’s so good. I get the translucent shade as I like to set my concealer under my eyes and it works really well.

For eyebrows I have gone really simple and chosen this Maybelline Brow Drama sculpting brow mascara. This is great for when you want natural looking brows that are easy to do. This also sets them in place all day which I like. I’ve found this adds a lot of fullness to your eyebrows so you don’t need to use any other eyebrow products with it.

For some colour on the cheeks I love this Bourjois blush in 74 rose ambre. This is great because the pigment isn’t really strong which means it’s easy to apply. This is a pretty pink colour which is very similar to the colour we naturally blush so it adds a lovely healthy glow to the cheeks.

For eyes I think this little palette from Rimmel would be really great. This is their 5 pan eyeshadow palette in Brixton Brown. It’s very convienent as it’s not bulky but it has 5 really nice shades that would be good for every day but also could be intensified with the dark brown and black shades.

Waterproof mascara is a must for me and the best one I’ve tried is the Maybelline the falsies mascara. This holds a curl really nicely and lengthens the lashes a lot.

Lastly for lips I’ve chosen this Tanya Burr lipgloss in the shade picnic in the park. I thought this was perfect as it adds a wash of colour without it being really bright . I think this would be perfect for a makeup newbie!

I’ve put swatches of the eyeshadows and the lipgloss above so you can see the shades. I hope you liked my picks! I had so much fun going through my makeup stash and picking out the products.

See you next time!

I’ve been using the Rimmel matte pressed powder, the falsies mascara and bourjois pot blusher in rose d’or . I really love these products. You have good picks for a make up starter.
